Protocol Education are working with a thriving secondary school in Trowbridge, to recruit a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

What's the role?
You'll primarily work on a 1:1 basis, supporting a student to access learning, develop confidence and thrive within the classroom environment.
Alongside your 1:1 responsibilities, you'll also play a key role as a general Teaching Assistant, supporting teachers across lessons, working with small groups and helping to maintain a positive learning environment throughout the school.
No two days are quite the same, which is exactly what makes this role so rewarding.
You'll be:
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students
- Supporting learning both in and out of the classroom
- Using effective behaviour management strategies to keep students engaged and on track
- Helping students develop confidence, independence and resilience
- Supporting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and parents where needed
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills
- Can quickly build positive and professional relationships
- Remains calm, patient and adaptable under pressure
- Has a proactive and positive attitude
- Is passionate about supporting young people to succeed
- Experience in schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring or support work would be highly beneficial
