About the Company
Our client is a growing specialist contractor delivering infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.
Operating within the civil engineering and groundworks sector, they support a wide range of schemes requiring strong operational delivery, safety management and coordination across site teams and clients.
With a strong reputation for delivery and a collaborative working environment, they are now looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to support the continued growth of the business and oversee multiple live projects.
About the Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from handover through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, HSEQ team and site supervisors, you will coordinate project delivery, manage operational performance and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
This role would suit someone with a strong construction background who enjoys managing multiple projects, leading teams and driving high standards across health, safety and operational delivery.
The key responsibilities for this Contracts Manager role are:
- Manage multiple construction and infrastructure projects through delivery and completion
- Conduct pre-start meetings and project briefings with site teams and supervisors
- Coordinate project mobilisation including staffing, equipment and documentation requirements
- Liaise with clients throughout project delivery and obtain project feedback upon completion
- Carry out site visits, inspections and audits where required
- Ensure all project documentation and HSEQ requirements are completed and maintained
- Support the development and implementation of operational procedures and processes
- Work closely with site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently
- Conduct toolbox talks and support a strong health and safety culture
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management
- Support workforce development and mentoring of junior staff and trainees
Experience required for this Contracts Manager role are:
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or operational delivery role within construction or civil engineering
- Strong construction knowledge with experience across infrastructure or specialist contracting environments
- Experience managing site teams, programmes and operational delivery
- Understanding of construction contracts and project delivery processes
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment
- SMSTS qualification
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Contracts Manager role are:
- Construction-related qualification or degree
- Experience within steel piling or specialist civils works
- Appointed Person for lifting operations
- Passport to Safety accreditation
