Early Years Setting

The Role

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Support Practitioner to work within a nurturing nursery setting in Chelmsford.

This role involves providing 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop key social skills, and thrive within an Early Years environment.

This is a long-term position, ideal for candidates passionate about supporting early childhood development and SEN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for children with SEN
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCo to implement support plans
  • Encourage communication, interaction, and emotional development
  • Support with personal care where required
  • Monitor and record progress

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children in a nursery or Early Years setting
  • Knowledge or experience supporting SEN (e.g. ASD, speech & language needs)
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 childcare) desirable
